Roelof Jan Minneboo 
Roelof Jan Minneboo (1965) studied history and English in Amsterdam and works as a scriptwriter and scriptconsultant. He co-wrote Corn Island with George Ovashvili (Georgia), The Owners with Adilkhan Yerzanov (Kazakhstan) and doctored Miaoyan Zhang’s A Corner of Heaven (China). He is currently involved in projects in Bosnia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and his homecountry The Netherlands.

Archetypes in screenplays and universal storytelling
A lecture/workshop about how to use story archetypes in making local stories accessible to worldwide audiences. The session takes us from the Sumerian epic of Gilgamesh to the Georgian film Corn Island. Historian and screenwriter Roelof Jan Minneboo will focus on universally human elements in the art of storytelling with special focus on stories that show hard us how hard it sometimes is to be a human being. There will be time to discuss stories that are still in the making with members of the audience.
